1.1 Update.
The 1.1 update I am releasing today is the first major update for polyCaves, but I've changed some aspects in response to feedback.
Firstly, I changed the way that treasure is collected in the game. Previously, this was caused by an in-game timer. However, it caused treasure to pile up, and in turn, spawned more treasure, which significantly slowed the game down around the halfway point. To combat this, I modified the object so that a new set of collectables appear after the player clears through the last set.
Secondly, I've implemented a menu screen. It's at the start, and you can now change settings like resolution and volume.
Next, I implemented a way to gain more lives in the game. Previously, the lives were fixed and you could only lose lives. Now, if you have more than 10 points, you can press the Space Bar to swap those points for another life.
Finally, I've added a way to destroy enemies without taking a life. The spikes can be found in all 3 levels and kills 1 enemy upon contact, with a short cooldown timer.
